Travel vaccination fees

We strongly recommend that you seek professional advice regarding any vaccinations required for your holiday.  This can be provided by the practice nurses or at private holiday travel clinics.  You must ensure you have your vaccinations in good time for your holiday in order for them to take effect.  Please contact the surgery for advice, or click on the travel vaccinations tab on this website for advice and a form to complete before coming for your vaccinations.

The NHS provides some, but not all, vaccinations for people travelling abroad.

Those vaccines which are provided free of charge by the NHS for travel abroad are:

  • Typhoid (to some countries)
  • Poliomyelitis
  • Hepatitis A

Other vaccines are not funded by the NHS for travel abroad, therefore we have to make the following charges:

Hepatitis B - full course (adults)

Hepatitis B - full course (children)

Hepatitis B booster (adults)

Hepatitis B booster (children)

Rabies - full course

Japanese B Encephalitis - full course

ACWY (Meningitis)

Tick-borne Encephalitis

Westside Surgery is not authorised to provide Yellow Fever vaccinations – patients requiring this should book a private appointment at a specialised travel clinic.

Our fees include the cost of the drug including carriage and VAT, a private prescription, practice nurse time and a small administration charge.

Payment is required in advance of administration – cheques should be made payable to ‘Westside Surgery’.
